Coefficient of performance, choosing a heat pump, your pool water.

The efficiency of a heat pump is called the coefficient of performance, or COP. This COP is calculated easily: it’s the ratio of the power delivered by the heat pump to the power consumed by it.

Example: A heat pump consuming 1 kW and delivering 5 kW of power has a COP of 5/1, which is 5. The higher the number, the more efficient the heat pump!

External conditions such as air temperature or humidity can affect the delivered power. Refer to our guide "How to Choose Your Heat Pump" on pages 6/7.

Our heat pumps are tested according to the measurement conditions stated by the Federation of Pool Professionals. They comply with European standards: Air at 26°C, water at 26°C, 80% humidity; Air at 15°C, water at 26°C, 70% humidity.
